Position: Post-doctoral research fellow in project „Technologies for information transfer and processing based on phenomena of a strictly quantum nature”

Number of stipends: 1

Institution: University of Gdańsk

Maximum period of stipend agreement: 19 months

Position starts on: December 1st, 2013.

Stipend’s amount: 5,000 PLN  (tax free; a successful candidate will be additionally employed at University of Gdańsk with additional salary around 2000 PLN [taxed])

Research tasks of the Project:

  1. Control of Generation of Resources for Non-Classical Communication and Metrology
  2. Detailed Structure of Sets of Entangled States
  3. New Tools for Entanglement Detection
  4. Quantum information and thermodynamics of micro and nano-systems.
  5. Mathematical aspects of quantum correlations and quantum formalism in general

The candidate is asked to select the tasks, in which he/she is most interested to work.

Profile of candidates:

  1. Background in theoretical physics (ability to synthesize and to select important facts)
  2. Good English speaking and writing

Required documents:

  1. Motivation letter.
  2. Curriculum Vitae including a one-page summation of the Ph.D. thesis containing the candidate specific qualifications for the position. The application should highlight the candidate’s scientific achievements, the detailed description of their research experience, the description of foreign traineeships; if available, it should also include a list of publications and presentations in conferences.
  3. Copies of the final grade for the PhD course.
  4. Three recommendation letters.
  5. Description (max. 2 pages) of research interests in one or several research tasks (1-5).
